- Review of notes from last meeting – 22 June 2018
We reviewed the notes from the last meeting. A couple of matters arising were brought up:- People’s Choice Surgery of the Year – sadly we didn’t make the shortlist for this award, but we were honoured to have been nominated. Emma shared the feedback the organisers had received from patients, which was really lovely to read.
- Phone system – we are considering removing the options on our phone system so that all calls go through to Reception, without the option to go directly through to the secretary. This has been causing some confusion with people going through to the wrong place. We think it is easier for Reception to initially take the queries and then put people through to the secretary if that is required.
- Nurse Roz Gilbert – Flu Vaccination Programme 2018/19
Roz came along to the meeting and gave people an update on the flu vaccination programme for this winter. The new development this year is that there is a different flu vaccine for people aged 65 and over. These people will receive Fluad which is understood to give better protection to this age group. And people in ‘at risk’ groups aged under 65 will receive a Quad vaccine which protects against 4 strains of flu.
Roz also talked about the other vaccinations that we offer including shingles and pneumonia vaccine. If you would like to find out if you are eligible for any of these vaccinations please contact Reception.
