    There were no matters arising from the last meeting
  3. Public Health Inequalities Funding – Jack Blakley
    Jack from Public Health spoke about a number of areas including:
    • Live Well Dorset – support for healthier living e.g. weight loss, support to stop smoking, increasing exercise
    • NHS Health checks are funded by Public Health, for patients aged 40 – 74 with no diagnosed cardio-vascuilar disease. The health checks give an idea of the risk of experiencing a CV issue in the future. Littledown Surgery will be starting to offer these again, and will be writing to invite qualifying patients to book in for these checks soon.
    • BCP merger
    • Additional funding for look at locally defined issues in health and wellbeing. What does the group feel are some local priorities? We have been offered £800 to promote local work/events. Some ideas suggested include:
      • Laughter Yoga
      • Singing groups
      • Walking in Schools
      • Walking Group
      • A Health and Wellbeing event – BP, cholesterol, lung function checks etc
      • Help & Care to talk about the services they offer
      • Fire Prevention
      • Exercise information from Littledown Centre
      • Invite practice and Primary Care Network population
